Proficiency Testing Schemes

The programme was established in 2002 to monitor the performance of national public health laboratories when diagnosing epidemic prone bacterial diseases. The WHO is committed to continue and provide the programme in the region as the only EQAP that covers general bacteriology and is freely available to participants. The areas of testing covered by the programme are general bacteriology (identification, culture, serotyping and antibiotic susceptibility testing) and detection and identification of medically important yeasts. The programme will cover the pathogens and drugs included in the WHO Global Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Scheme (GLASS) For 2018, there will be ONE survey comprising 10 samples. In 2019 we will send two surveys of 10 samples each.

Please contact the scheme coordinator for additional information or assistance.
